First 10 days of Dhul Hijjah 2025/1446
Asalamu Alaikum,
May this message find you and your families in the best of health and iman during these upcoming blessed days of the year.
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the most rewarding days of the year. Please make use of these sacred days by fasting, giving charity, and remembering Allah (SWT).
Insha'Allah, the first day of Dhul-Hijjah is on Wednesday, May 28.
Please pay attention to the following, since many of us take for granted how great and important these 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah are in the sight of Allah (SWT).
Ibn Abbas reports that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these days (meaning the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)."
Abu Hurairah relates that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "There are no days more loved to Allah for you to worship Him therein than the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Fasting any day during it is equivalent to fasting one year and to offer salatul tahajjud (late night prayer) during one of its nights is like performing the late night prayer on the night of power (Lailatul Qadr)."
This is related by at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and al-Baihaqi
Fasting the Day of Arafah:
Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it."
Important Dates:
Day of Arafah: Thursday, June 5
Eid al Adha: Friday, June 6
There will be a special catered iftar at Hoda Center of the Day of Arafah. Everyone is welcome.
