Question from the community in Living Islam

Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters.

As believers, we know that all things unfold by the will of Allah, yet our hearts often wrestle with it especially in cases of difficulties, injustices, and oppression. A community member asked the following question during our last Living Islam: But how or what can we do to acceptit and be at peace with a situation?

Ustadh Tariq tells us that "nothing says we have to be at peace". Feeling sorrow or anger over difficulties or injustices is human. But acceptance stems from understanding two core truths.

First, our knowledge is limited. What we perceive as hardship may hold blessings we cannot yet see. Allah reminds us, Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you and like something which is bad for you. Allah knows and you do not know (Quran 2:216). The Sahaba faced this at the Treaty of Hudaybiyah. Denied Umrah, they felt defeated. Yet, the Prophet understood it was a step toward greater victory.

Second, this world is temporary. Whatever pain or wrong we endure will be rectified by Allah in ways beyond imagination. In Surah Ya Sin, the martyred man killed for calling others to followAllah declares, If only my people knew how my Lord has forgiven me, and made me one of the honorable

Our response? Take every means to please Allah, trusting His promise of reward. Strive, pray, and remembertrue peace lies inknowing He sees and holds all.

Your Generosity is Transforming Lives

Your support is more than just a donationits a lifeline for those seeking the truth. Recently, through the New Muslims Program, we sent bookbags filled with Qurans and prayer rugs to our new brothers and sisters in faith. Alhamdulillah, two of them took their shahadah!
