An Exciting Opportunity from ICGC!
Assalaamu aleykum,
From the visionary founders to the current leaders, ICGC has set a number of opportunities in motion benefiting Muslims and the Muslim community strategically focusing on 16 areas critical importance among which are the following:
-
Scholarships for US Muslims wanting to pursue a career as religious and/or institutional leaders, keeping in mind the venue, philosophy and curriculum of the proposed institution(s) of learning.

Promoting public relations efforts on behalf of U.S. Muslims.
-
Recognition events or programs for area civic, business, political or religious leaders working in cooperation with the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati and the Muslim community.
This is an exciting opportunity that was identified as a crucial part of ICGC's mission by the founders and maintained by the leadership teams that have succeeded them. Individuals interested in pursuing an initiative in any of
these focus areas to serve the Muslim institutions and/or communities are encouraged to take advantage of such an opportunity.
The applicant must be US Muslims, Citizen or Permanent Resident, wanting to pursue a career as religious and/or institutional leaders at a US-based Islamic Institution or starting an initiative that falls within these areas of focus.
Please submit the following to be considered:
Focus Area 1: US Muslims wanting to pursue a career as religious and/or institutional leaders

A letter of acceptance to the institution that the applicant will be attending.

Two letters of recommendation from someone attesting to the applicant’s academic aptitude and one letter attesting to the individual’s character and values.
-
An essay of approximately 500 words in length that describes the applicant’s desire to pursue a career as a religious and/or institutional leader, a description of their career goals, and what forms of education
-
will be required to achieve their goals.

Other eligible areas are:

Promoting advanced learning and research of Islamic teachings in context of contemporary issues and understanding in the West- utilizing grants, subject oriented conferences and seminars, as well as publication
-
of monographs, magazines, books, etc.
-
Supporting establishment and functioning of institutions of Islamic higher learning in the US.
-
Acquisition and distribution of accurate literature about Islam.
-
Supporting efforts to encourage Muslims participation in the U.S. mainstream media- print, broadcast and social platforms through scholarships and grants. Supporting Islamic Think tanks.
-
Supporting da’wa and rehabilitation work in U.S. prisons.
-
Promotion of social justice causes in the U.S.
-
Promotion of interfaith harmony and cooperation.

Supporting better understanding of Islam in area Universities and schools.

Provision of seed money as grants or loans for construction or maintenance of, needed worship facilities, athletic venues, shelters for victims of domestic violence, retirement homes or other services to benefit

the Muslim and larger community in the region.

Assistance in health care provision to the indigent population.
-
Devising and disseminating strategies for advancing institutional involvement, by Muslim Americans, in their respective communities.

Provide support for integration of new Muslims into the mainstream community.

Sharing leadership development and community building initiatives and best practices with other U.S. based Islamic organizations.
