HADITH OF THE DAY
Masjid Al-Ihsaan
PLEASE DONATE TO THE MASJID
Iftar and Dinner will be served on Thursday June 5, the Day of Arafat
**The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafat. He said, "It expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year." [Sahih Muslim]
The Day of Arafat, the ninth Zil Hajj, is the day of forgiveness for the pilgrims. Not everyone can go on Hajj, and certainly not every year, but this Day of Arafat is one of the great gifts** o**f Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) from which people worldwide can benefit. On this day, Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) grants fasting Muslims forgiveness for their faults of two years, if they have committed any; if not, Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) elevates their degree in Paradise. The Muslims should celebrate the day of Arafa by restraining themselves from committing sins and iniquities so that Allah may forgive them.
The Prophet of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "On this day (of Arafat), whoever holds his hearing, sight, and tongue (from committing sins), he will be forgiven by Allah." [Ahmad] Muslims should say the Tahlil (La ilaha il Allah), Tasbeeh (Subhanallah) and Takbeer (Allahu Akbar). It is also recommended to do as much dua (supplication) as possible on this day, since "there is no other day on which Allah frees a larger number of His slaves from the Fire of Hell than the Day of Arafat." [Sahih Muslim]
The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "The best supplication is on the day of Arafat, and the best remembrance that I and the prophets before me (made) is: "There is no god but Allah, the only true God, who has no partner. To Him belongs the kingdom (of the universe) and to Him all praises are due. And He has the power to do everything." [Tirmidhi]**
