Giving Tuesday – December 3rd, 2024

As the year draws to a close, we at the Islamic Society of Delaware reflect on the blessings we have received and express our heartfelt gratitude to Allah (SWT) and to you for your unwavering support. Your contributions highlight your belief in our mission and help strengthen our community.

This coming Tuesday, December 3, is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity. Many employers offer donation-matching programs for contributions made to registered non-profit organizations. This presents a wonderful opportunity to maximize your giving (sadaqa) and multiply the rewards for you and your loved ones.

Please check your employer's donation portal and consider making a gift to ISD on Giving Tuesday, December 3.

Additionally, we invite you to get involved! Volunteers are the backbone of our community, and there are countless ways to make a meaningful difference. Share your time and talents whenever you can, and together, let’s continue to build a stronger ISD.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan.

Additional Opportunity to make a difference!

Give to Muslim Women Scholars HERE

Alhamdulillah Muslim Women Scholars continue to make a difference at UD! Throughout the year, MWS continues to offer bi-weekly halaqas and social events exclusively for female students. They are also excited to introduce an Annual Academic Achievement Award to honor the exceptional accomplishments of a PhD student member of their community. If you would like to fund any of these specific projects, you are welcome to indicate your preference. They can dedicate the award to someone of your choice.

Your support means a lot! Please consider donating using the link provided. This is a Giving Tuesday campaign, and the deadline is almost here. All contributions are tax-deductible!

Did you take action for our brothers and sisters in Palestine today?

  1. Now more than ever you need to pick up your phone and make the call to your elected representatives in Congress - Tell them to stop the ongoing genocide of innocent Palestinian people in Gaza by supporting a ceasefire!

There can be no more business as usual until there is a permanent ceasefire

As a reminder, here are the phone numbers of Delaware's Senators:

Senator Tom Carper: (202) 224-2441

Senator Chris Coons: (202) 224-5042

Calling Script:

“Hi, my name is [Your Name] from zip code [your zip code] and I am requesting [Representative Name] to

  1. call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza

  2. do more to get humanitarian aid into Gaza

  3. And to stop sending our tax dollars/weapons to Israel to continue its genocide

Thank you”

  1. Need more support to do step 1?

Please sign up to join the WhatsApp group (link below) that is dedicated to keeping you motivated to keep calling - the results have been amazing - we are up to 72 members of  Congress who are supporting a ceasefire! We are averaging 150 calls per day but with your help we can get to a much higher number In Shaa'Allah.
