Parking Plan During Masjid Extension

Assalamu alaikum, Dear ISK Community

After much wait, the extension project is officially underway, Alhamdulilah!

Below you will find the parking solutions we are implementing during construction, starting tomorrow at Jummah.

The first few weeks of construction will be the most challenging as our back parking lot is being expanded and leveled. This work should be completed by August and will provide us with more overall parking space, Alhamdulilah. Until then, that area is fenced off and inaccessible.

Here are solutions to offset this temporary loss:

CARPOOLING: If possible, we encourage families and friends to come together and avoid single driver cars. If enough community members make this sacrifice, it will lead to a huge overall impact.

FREE SHUTTLES: The ISK will be providing free shuttles from the Cataraqui arena (where we had Eid prayer, please see the image below) starting at 12:30pm until 1:40pm for the first Jummah, and from 2:15pm to 2:45pm for the second Jummah. A 15-person mini-bus and at least two taxis will be running during these times.

FOLLOW GUIDELINES: There is a new one-way traffic flow and enhanced parking spaces on site, so please follow the guidelines of Paladin security when arriving and exiting so we can maximize space and efficiency.

Alternative Jummah Prayers

Lastly, if the above options do not work, please consider one of the alternate Jummah locations such as Crossroads United Church, Queen's University, and the CFB Kingston Mercy Musallah. Locations and timings can be found below.

CFB Kingston Mercy Musallah
Multi-Faith Chapel, 33 Lundys Lane
Jummah: 1:30 PM

Crossroads United Church Community Hall
690 Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd
Jummah: 1:00 PM

QUMSA Jummah Queens University

Jazakum Allahu Khayran for your understanding, collaboration and sacrifice on these initiatives!
