Happy Hijri New Year 1446
The new Hijri year 1446, 1st of Muharram, started on Sunday, July 7th.
The ETCIC wishes you a very Happy Hijri New Year, full of happiness and gratitude.
O Allah, we ask You for the goodness of this new year: its blessings, ease, security, and safety. We seek refuge in You from its evils and hardships. We ask You to grant us success therein to earn Your pleasure in our ultimate return. O Most Generous of the Generous, and O Most Merciful of the Merciful.
Merits of the month of Muharram:

It is one of the four Sacred months about which Allah (SWT) said: So wrong not yourselves in them. (Surat Al-Tawba, Verse 36).

It is the best of the four Sacred months. The Prophet (PBUH) called it: Allahs month Al-Muharram.

It is the best month for voluntary fasting, The Prophet (PBUH) was asked as which fast was most excellent after the month of Ramadan. He (PBUH) said: the most excellent fast after (fasting) in the month of Ramadan is the fast in Allah's month al-Muharram. (Reported by Muslim)

It contains the Day of Ashura. The Prophet (PBUH) said: I seek from Allah that fasting on the day of Ashura may atone for the sins of the preceding year. (Reported by Muslim)
We ask Allah (SWT) to grant us strength and help to fast as many days of this great Sacred month, including the day of Ashura.
Potluck Iftar - Day of Ashura
In shaa Allah, the Day of Ashura, 10th of Muharram, will be on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024. The day of Ashura is an important day in Islam.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: I seek from Allah that fasting on the day of Ashura may atone for the sins of the preceding year. (Reported by Muslim)
Please, bring your family and your Iftar to join the community in a Potluck Iftar at the Masjid.
