Ensuring a Peaceful Taraweeh Experience Important Community Update
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
Over the past week, we have received several complaints from our community members regarding continuous disturbances caused by children and teenagers in the Musallah and MPR during Taraweeh prayers. Unattended children have become a serious safety concern, with incidents of older kids (preteens) trying to climb out of windows, groups of children roaming the masjid and finding empty rooms to play in unattended, children throwing bottles and climbing stacked chairs and younger children crying continuously during Taraweeh to the extent that community members (not their parents) have to pick them up to quiet them down out of concern. Additionally, babysitters are facing mistreatment when they attempt to maintain order. These disruptions have made it difficult for many to pray comfortably and focus on their worship at Al Falah and it is disrespectful and disruptive to our imams. Despite repeated reminders over the past ten nights, these issues persist.
To address this issue and ensure a peaceful, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone, we have implemented the following changes effective immediately:
- Babysitting Services Available Daily
- Babysitting will be provided daily from Isha until the end of Taraweeh for children aged 4 and above.
- Parents are encouraged to utilize this service to ensure their children are well cared for during prayers.
2. Parental Responsibility
- If parents do not wish to send their children to babysitting, they must ensure their children remain with them at all times.
- Children found roaming the hallways or causing disturbances will be kindly directed to either join the babysitting service or return to the Musallah or MPR with their parents.
3. Compliance with Masjid Policies
- We kindly request all parents to cooperate with these guidelines to maintain a respectful atmosphere for worship.
- Our team will speak with parents if necessary to ensure compliance with Masjid policies.
We understand that children are a blessing and an integral part of our community, and these measures are not meant to discourage their presence but to create a harmonious environment for everyone. Your cooperation and understanding in this matter are greatly appreciated.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your continued support and commitment to maintaining the sanctity of our Masjid.
May Allah (SWT) accept our prayers and efforts during this blessed month of Ramadan.
