What to do for this special night

According to those following the moonsighting calendar, the 15th night of Sha'ban will enter tonight at Maghrib.

One night, Sayyidah Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, awoke to find the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, missing from her side. She went out searching for him and found him in the Baqi graveyard, his blessed hands raised to the heavensin earnest supplication.

He told her that on this night, Allah forgives more people than there are hairs on the sheep of the tribe of Kalb which was known to have to a great flocks in possession [Ibn Majah].

This is the 15th Night of Shabana night when Allahs mercy descends in boundlesswaves.

The sins that weigh heavy on our souls, the regrets we carry, the wounds weve inflicted upon others and those inflicted upon usall of it can be washed away tonight. But are we ready to let go?

Forgiveness is the key to unlocking divine mercy. What is taking up space in your heart? Is there bitterness that lingers? A grudge that festers? A name you struggle to forgive? Dont let these chains hold you back from Hismercy.

We all are in need Allahs mercy, but to receive it, we must also extend it to others. Lets make this night one of sincerity and transformation: Think of someone who has wronged or frustrated you. Raise your hands and make du'a for them. Ask Allah to grant them goodness in this life and the next. Remember, you're doing this for Allah in order to remove hate from your heart soto receive His forgiveness.

What Can You Do on this Night?

While there are no specific rituals prescribed, it is encouraged to dedicate time to worship throughout the night.
Spend the night in worship throughprayer, dhikr, reciting Quran, seeking forgiveness, and salawat
Make duafor yourself, for your loved ones, for the entire ummah
Recite Surah Ya Sin, as it is commonly read on this night (Find the Arabic, translation, and transliteration here from Muwasala)

The door of mercy stands open. Step through it before it closes.

May Allah purify our hearts, forgive our sins, and help us reach Ramadan.Ameen.
