Ramadan Kareem****A Month of Blessings
As-salmu Alaykum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As the blessed month of Ramadan begins, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) extends its warmest greetings to you and your loved ones. This sacred time invites us to strengthen our bond with our Creator, seek His mercy, and embrace the transformative power of prayer, fasting, and charity.
Fasting is more than abstaining from food and drinkit is a journey of self-discipline, patience, and spiritual purification. It deepens our faith, nurtures trust in the Almighty, and reminds us of our duty to uphold justice and stand against oppression. The unwavering resilience of our brothers and sisters in Gaza reflects the sacrifices of Prophets Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad (peace be upon them), who faced immense trials in their pursuit of truth. As we draw strength from their legacy, let us remember the people of Gaza and all those who endure oppression across the world, keeping them in our prayers and standing in solidarity with their struggle for justice.
Ramadan is a time for deep reflection on our responsibilitiesboth personal and collective. It calls us to care for our families and neighbors while upholding our duty to humanity and the Ummah. Above all, it reminds us to guide ourselves and others toward lifes ultimate purpose: preparing for the Hereafter.
As we gather for Iftar, stand in prayer, and share our blessings through Zakat and Sadaqah, let us embrace the unity that Ramadan brings. May this sacred month instill in us sincerity, sacrifice, and the true essence of TaqwaGod-consciousness.
Wa Aalaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
