Eid is a time of celebration, but it is also a time of contemplation and continued worship. Contemplation, introspection, and thinking are at the highest level of worship in our tradition.

Eid Mubarak from ours to yours!

Eid is a time of celebration, but it is also a time for contemplation and continued worship. In our tradition, contemplation, introspection, and deep reflection are among the highest forms of worship. When engaged in sincerely, they lead to understandingof God, the human being, the Prophets, revelation, the human heart, and even the events that shape and mold the human experience.

Surah Aal-Imran (3:190-191):

"Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of understanding."

"Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire."

The 10 days of Dhul Hijjah and their greatness include the day of Eid. Just as we all hoped and prayed for great forgiveness, a new start, or simply glorified our Lord on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, Arafat, today is also a day of greatness. A day of glorification. A day of asking God! As we remember God on this day, keep in mind and think deeply about the fact that we are only honored to remember God because He has remembered us first. In realizing this deeply, we become grateful and truly begin to praise God.

Surah Al-Insan (76:30):

"And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise."

May Allah bless you all with a joyous Eid with family and friends. Ameen.
