Qurbani Resources
I witnessed the Prophet () on the Day of Nahr (10th of Dhul-Hijjah). He said, "Whoever slaughtered the sacrifice before offering the Eid prayer, should slaughter another sacrifice in its place; and whoever has not slaughtered their sacrifice yet, should slaughter now."
-Sahih al-Bukhari (5562)
If youre arranging for your Qurbani to be performed abroad, be sure to request that the organization schedules it on the second or third day of Eid in their local time zone. This helps ensure that your Qurbani is done after you have prayed your Eid Prayer as required. Qurbani must be performed after Eid Prayer to be validotherwise, it will be considered general sadaqah rather than Qurbani.
Please see the list of organizations below that may be a resource for qurbani (not affiliated with MCA)
Significance of the Day of Arafat
The 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, known as the Day of Arafat or Yawm Al-Waqf (the Day of Standing), holds profound significance and will fall on Thursday, June 5th. It is the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage and one of the most important days in the Islamic calendar as it marks the occasion when Allah (SWT) perfected the religion of Islam and completed His favor upon the Prophet Muhammad .
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. -Quran (5:3)
Be sure to fast on the Day of Arafat if possible as it expiates the sins of the previous year and the year to come! Increase your acts of worship, offer nafl prayers, read the Quran, send salutations to the Prophet , and make extra duas.
"He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Arafat (9th of DhuI-Hijjah), whereupon he said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year." -Sahih Muslim (1162)
