Reminders & Schedule
Taraweeh & Dua Location:
We will be using the brand-new facility to have this year’s Khatm. We are very excited about this development and want to do a soft opening for this blessed occasion. Given that the facility is still under construction please pay close attention to the following reminders:
-
Dress in layers and wear warm clothing.
- Heating is available in the hall but just in case it is not fully functional please have warm clothes.
- Refreshments after the Dua and Witr prayer will be outside upstairs where it will be cold.
-
Bring prayer rugs
- Currently there is no flooring in the hall; We will lay out rugs.
- To be comfortable during the evening, consider bringing your own prayer rugs.
-
Where do I put the shoes?
- There are no shoe racks in the hall or outside the hall.
- We are expecting a large crowd which will be a tripping hazard if there are too many shoes on the floor.
- Volunteers will be handing out bags for everyone to hold their shoes and keep with you.
- This will alleviate the problem of having to find the correct pair amongst several on the ground.
Refreshments:
We will be serving refreshments after the dua and Witr Salah. Patrons are welcome to bring in a dish to share with the community. There is absolutely no obligation in that. If you plan to bring in a dish then here is a basic guideline:
-
What to bring?
- Feel free to bring any refreshment – finger foods are highly recommended.
- Bring items which don’t get spoiled without refrigeration.
-
How much to bring?
- Bring quantity that feed 10 – 15 people
- Please, split the quantity in separate containers for men and women
- Please, use disposable containers for items
Safety:
Safety is always at the forefront for all the events and our top priority. This remains a construction site; we want all our patrons to be always aware of their surroundings.
- Please pay close attention to the posted signs and no trespassing in blocked off areas.
- We expect lots of kids and youth to be present at the Masjid, be watchful while parking and driving through the parking lot during evening and late night hours
- Park only in the designated areas and do not block space for emergency response vehicles
- Parents: Continue to remind your kids about the safety
Parking:
To ensure that parking and traffic concerns remain under control, here are specific steps that we are implementing:
-
We are hiring SJPD officers
- To monitor and guide traffic on Ruby Avenue
- Constant patrol inside the parking lot to ensure cars are parked legally and not blocking access.
- Please, take the time to thank the fine police officers providing this service!
-
Inside the facility parking
- Please come early to take advantage of the inside parking.
- Only park in designated parking areas. Be mindful of the parking signs.
- We highly encourage everybody to carpool.
