As Salaamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Dear beloved ISB Community:
We thank Allah for allowing us to reach the great month of Dhul-Hijjah. We Say, "Dhul-Hijjah Mubarak" as the commencement of the Month of Dhul-Hijjah will be tomorrow, May 28, 2025, as we celebrate together all the great deeds of our Muslim tradition. The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, Allah swore an oath on them, glorified them, elevated their rank, and mentioned His Scripture. They are the best 10 days of the Muslim Calendar period.
The Prophet (May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him) has sanctified these ten days. In addition, he encouraged the people to increase their good deeds. In an authentic Hadith he said: [There are no days that the good deeds are more beloved to Allah than these 10 days. The Companions said: Even Striving for the path of Allah? He said: Even striving for the Path of Allah, except a man who went out with himself and wealth but returned with nothing.] Narrated by Imam Bukhari.
The Following are recommended acts of Sunnah:
- Fasting the first 9 days of Dul-Hijjah, or at least fasting the Day of Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah)
- Increasing your generous giving and Sadaqah
- Involving more general good deeds
- Forgiving those who wronged you and expecting reward with Allah
- Doing plenty of Du'aa everyday and making Du'aa to others
- Sacrifice and making Udhiya/Qurbani for feeding the destitute
- Repentance and returning back to Allah
- If making Udhiya, not cutting your hair or nails during the 10 days
