Ramadan - The Month of Giving!
As-Salam 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
Alhamdulillah, it seems like just yesterday we welcomed the blessed month of Ramadan, and now, we have completed the first 10 days of mercy! It has been truly amazing and uplifting to witness the Masjid come alive day and night with brothers, sisters, and children united in seeking Allah's pleasure.
Our goal this Ramadan was to make DarusSalam a sanctuary for you and your familya place of spiritual growth and community. As we reflect on the first ten days, we are thankful to Allah for blessing our community with the following shared achievements:
Parking
Alhamdulillah, we've welcomed over 850 cars daily for Tarawih Salah. On the first night, due to the overwhelming turnout, we regrettably had to turn away 125 cars due to parking constraints. This further highlights the urgent need for the Parking Lot Expansion Project, which, with the fadhl of Allah and your support, we hope to complete this year so that we will be ready for next Ramadan and for the years to come inshallah.
Tarawih
The Masjid vibrates with energy every night, accommodating families of all ages. We've offered separate Tarawih programs to cater to our community's diverse needs:
- 29-Day Tarawih: 1,200 brothers & sisters
- 7-Day Tarawih: 600 brothers & sisters
- NextGen Tarawih: 110 young brothers
- Young Muslimah's Tarawih: 260 young sisters
Community Circles
This past weekend, we held our first age-based programs for the brothers & sisters of our community with an amazing turn out, Alhamdulilah!
- Brothers' Youth Event - 200 participants
- Sisters' Youth Event - 250 participants
- Father & Son I'tikaf - 150 fathers & 225 kids
- Mother & Daughter Evening - This Friday!
Community Iftar & Dinner
Last Saturday, we hosted our Annual Community Iftar & Dinner with over 1,200 brothers & sisters from across the Chicagoland area. Additionally, every night we serve iftar before Maghrib to 250 brothers and sisters of our community, as well as a full dinner after Maghrib for our out of state dorming seminary students.
Alhamdulillah, our achievements thus far are a testament to Allah grace and your invaluable support. In this month of giving, we kindly encourage each of you to support all the programs and activities that are taking place at DarusSalam by donating generously.
