Sister Q has a 5-year-old daughter and is expecting a son within a month. She has had a high-risk pregnancy, which has caused her to stop working. Additionally, her husband is recovering from a serious heart attack, and has not been able to work. They have fallen behind on their rent, and are facing eviction. They need immediate assistance to be able to remain in their home.
Amount Requested: $2,000
Brother M was a prominent and beloved member of the DAH community for many years. He suffered a stroke rendering him permanently disabled, and has since survived on a small disability benefit, and the charity of the community to provide for his housing. We are coordinating with other agencies to assist him as well, but he is in need of help covering his rent this month.
Amount Requested: $1,500
Sister M was out of work for a while due to a health condition, and she fell behind on her rent. She is back to work now, and has been working with a county caseworker to get back on track. She is requesting assistance catching up on her past due rent.
Amount Requested: $1,000
Sister S is working, but her husband has been unable to work due to an injury, and his disability benefit was denied. She has been working toward self-sufficiency through a county program, but has fallen behind on her rent, and is asking for assistance catching up.
Amount Requested: $695
Sister T was terminated from her job and fell behind on her rent. She has recently secured a good job, and will be able to pay her rent going forward, but she needs assistance catching up on the past due amount.
