Renovations at Dar Al-Hijrah
Renovations are starting! Estimated time frame inside!
Dear Brothers/Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
With the Grace and Mercy of Allah, SWT, it is my pleasure to announce that the Renovations of Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center will be starting from July 15, 2024, inshaAllah.
Alhamdulillah, we have already signed the construction/renovation contract with a reputable company and they have given us an estimated time frame of July 15 to October 15, 2024 for the complete renovations. The major areas where renovation will be taking place are as follows:

Kitchen: new floor, plumbing, equipment and freezers

Courtyard: raising the floor to make it elderly and wheelchair friendly, new tiles, paint, removal of shoe racks to make it more open

Installation of sliding doors between Musalah and the Courtyard

Both men and women bathrooms
-
Minaret: replacing broken tiles, washing and polishing

Painting of the walls that need to be painted
-
Replacing the broken tiles inside the building, followed by washing and polishing the wall tiles.
Due to these major renovations we are going to ask you for your support and patience. We anticipate the following:

Daily prayers will be held in the main musalla but we will use the exit doors to enter and exit

No bathrooms facilities will be available (exact dates to be announced later)

Starting July 19, 2024, Jumuah prayers, during renovations, will be held in the Musalla and parking lot at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM

Additional Jumuah prayers will be held at First Christian Church at 11:45 AM, 12:45 PM and 1:45 PM
-
All funeral prayers will be held outside

During the renovation no major programs will be held at Dar al-Hijrah, Falls Church location

Due to the presence of construction equipments and labor and lack of bathroom facilities we request the families to not bring small children to the Masjid during construction
We intend to keep the community updated with the renovation progress, inshaAllah, on a regular basis. We are going to need volunteers to help us with the Jumuah arrangements. If you are able to give us time on Fridays then please let us know, jazakAllah khair.
