IMPORTANT.
Dear ICF Community,
We would like to inform you about an unfortunate incident that occurred after Isha Jama’ah on Saturday, June 7th, 2025.
Our dedicated security guard, Omar Yaqoob, who was performing Isha Salah after completing his duty, was attacked inside the masjid by an individual armed with a sharp object. The attacker, a Muslim man who had been regularly attending the masjid for the past several months, carried out the assault.
Security guard Omar Yaqoob was able to exit the Masjid, and the assailant was quickly apprehended by the Frisco Police Department without further incident. Omar Yaqoob was transported to emergency services, treated for his injuries, and—Alhamdulillah—is now in stable condition and recovering at home.
According to the Frisco Police Department, this was an isolated incident, and we believe there is no ongoing threat to the community. We will provide an update if any new information becomes available.
All regular ICF activities will resume beginning with Dhuhr on Sunday, June 8th. Summer camp will proceed as planned starting Monday, June 9th. Please note that for the safety of our children and staff, the ICF premises will remain under lockdown during camp hours (Masjid standard protocol), and only authorized individuals will be allowed entry. A security guard will continue to be present as always.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Frisco Police Department for their prompt and professional response, and have requested extra police presence for the next few days.
We thank our community members for their patience, support, and continued prayers.
If you or someone you know is feeling distressed by this event, please know that support is available:
