City of College Park Mayor Fazlul Kabir and Councilman Jacob Hernandez with Imam Safi Khan, awarding Dar-us-Salaam with an official proclamation recognizing 30 years of impact.

Asalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Our 30th Anniversary dinner on Saturday was a successful event that went far beyond our expectations. Approximately 600 community members showed up in support of the Dar-us-Salaam mission and legacy, and it was a beautiful evening filled with inspiration, heartfelt presentations by our Al-Huda School students, and warmth and unity of our collective Muslim community.

The event began on a high note with the City of College Park and the Prince George’s County Council each presenting Al-Huda School with an official proclamation recognizing the 30th year anniversary and also the positive impact the Dar-us-Salaam community has had on the local region.

Mayor Fazlul Kabir, himself a parent of Al-Huda School alumni, and Councilman Jacob Hernandez represented the City of College Park, while County Councilman Calvin Hawkins represented the Prince George’s County Council, along with the President of Prince George’s County Muslim Council, Jameel Aalim-Johnson.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported our efforts. We wouldn’t be here today without your love, support, and especially your Du’aa.

Here’s to another 30 years of Dar-us-Salaam, and more! 🎉
