Fasting during Ramadan
5 more nights of iftars need to be sponsored
Dear respected community members,
May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you all. As we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, we are reminded of the importance of coming together as a community to support one another, especially during this time of fasting and spiritual reflection.
We understand that not everyone in our community is able to fast due to various reasons such as illness, pregnancy, or old age. For those who can't fast, it's essential to know that you can still be rewarded and benefit from the blessed month.
Fidyah is an option available for individuals who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to reasons such as illness, medical conditions, old age (in which it would be harmful for you to fast), pregnancy, breastfeeding, or menstruation. Instead of fasting, they can feed a hungry person for each day missed or provide enough food to feed 30 needy people for the entire month of Ramadan.
Fidyah is a substitute for the fasting obligation for those who cannot fast. It allows them to fulfill their religious obligation while also contributing to the well-being of others in need. It is considered a form of expiation for being unable to observe the fast.
We urge you to contribute to this noble cause, whether for yourself or on behave of an aging parent who can no longer fast due to health, by donating just $10 per meal, which can provide a nutritious Iftar meal to a fasting Muslim in need. You can also donate $300, which can feed 30 Muslims, which is equivalent to one Muslim every day of Ramadan. Your donation will go a long way in alleviating hunger and ensuring that everyone in our community can observe Ramadan with dignity and joy.
Your generosity will benefit those who receive the meals and earn you immense rewards during the blessed month of Ramadan. It was reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast shall have their sins forgiven, and will be saved from the Hell-Fire, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without his reward being diminished at all." (Tirmidhi)
Let's unite as a community to make this Ramadan a special and memorable one for everyone. Every donation counts, no matter how big or small.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
