Regarding Safety

Safety: We Love our Youth

Dear Respected Community Members,

As caretakers of our sacred space, we wish to reaffirm that the Masjid stands as a sanctuary for worship, with the safety and sanctity of our community as our utmost concern.

In light of recent occurrences, despite the diligent efforts of our leaders and volunteers, there have been instances that stray from the teachings of Islam. Parents and guardians must shoulder the responsibility for their children's conduct, ensuring their actions reflect our cherished values.

We deeply value, love, and encourage the involvement of our youth within the Masjid. Many of our young volunteers contribute significantly, enriching our community through their dedication and commitment to both the Masjid and the pleasure of Allah.

Parents must stay with their children and cannot drop them off at the Clifton Mosque and leave to go home, work, or another Masjid. The Masjid is not a recreational space or a childcare facility, and the community cannot assume responsibility for unaccompanied minors. It is crucial to keep children under supervision, particularly during busy periods in the parking lot.

Furthermore, it is essential to maintain appropriate gender segregation and discourage any misconduct among our youth. The consumption of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs, as well as the possession of firearms, violence, or threats, are strictly prohibited within the Masjid premises.

For the safety and comfort of all worshippers, we recommend that children under five remain home whenever possible. If bringing them along is unavoidable, please ensure diligent supervision and utilize the designated play area in the sister's section.

Teenagers are encouraged to participate in Taraweeh prayers or worship from home. Regardless of age, no child should ever be left unattended within or around the Masjid premises.

As a result of neglectful parents, we must hire more paid police officers to patrol the masjid and spend money on police officers that could go towards other essential needs of the Masjid and community.

We acknowledge and appreciate the responsible and respectful majority within our community. Your continued support is invaluable. However, the actions of a few individuals necessitate these reminders.

Please keep our community in your prayers. We are grateful for your patience, support, and understanding in upholding the sanctity of our beloved Masjid.
