Requesting Nominations for the Board of Trustees

Assalam Alaykum Dear Community Members,

We are pleased to announce that the elections for the Board of Trustees at Imam al-Asr Masjid are approaching soon! We invite all eligible and interested community members to apply for nomination to serve on the Board and contribute to the growth

and success of our community.

To submit your nomination, please use the link below and complete the application form by Sunday, October 13, 2024. Kindly include a brief statement outlining your experience in serving Islamic communities, especially your involvement at Imam al-Asr Masjid.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be at least thirty (30) years old and a practicing Ja'fari Ithna-Ashari Muslim.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, regardless of race, color, gender, or national origin.

• Must be a registered members for last two (2) years in good standing with no outstanding dues.

• Must support the vision and mission of Imam al-Asr Masjid and agree with its bylaws.

• Must have actively participated in at least 25% of the Centers programs over the last two (2) years preferably in volunteer capacity.

• As a trustee, you must commit to attending at least 50% of the Centers programs, with one-third of them being in-person.

Election Timeline

• Nomination Period: Now through **Sunday, October 20, 2024
  **All eligible members are encouraged to submit nominations during this period. Candidates will be vetted and approved by the current Board of Trustees to ensure qualifications.

• Election Dates: **Friday, November 1 - Friday, November 8
  **Online voting will be open to registered members of the Center who have provided their email address. If you need to vote in-person, kindly contact one of the existing Trustees during scheduled Center programs. Further details about the voting process will follow.

• Election Results & General Body Meeting: **Friday, November 15
  **The newly elected Board members will be formally announced during the General Body Meeting and via email to the entire community.

We encourage all qualified members of the community to step forward and serve. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the leadership that will shape the future of Imam al-Asr Masjid.
