Voter Brief Summary: Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
We are pleased to share the results of the recent mosque elections held to appoint individuals to key leadership positions for the upcoming term. The election process was designed to be inclusive, transparent, and community driven. Nomination Process: A total of 10 nominees were nominated by the community
1 declined the nomination and another withdrew right before the third call for voting.
The Election Sub-Committee called for a Meet & Great meeting on May 24 where 9 candidates met with members of the community and explained their ideas and thoughts regarding the well being of NHIC.
On May 24, 2025, the Sub-Committee made the first call for the voting. About 358 registered members were required for a quorum, but only 21 showed up.
On May 31, 2025, a second call for voting was made. 236 registered members were needed for a quorum, only 15 showed up.
The Sub-Committee made a third call for voting on June 28, 2025. Only 20 registered members were needed for a quorum. To make voting accessible to more members of our community and to encourage more participation, the Sub-Committee started the voting process at 10:00am till 12:00noon, followed by a break, then resumed the voting from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.
The statistics the June 28 voting day are as follows:
Morning: During the morning session, more than the 20 registered members required for a quorum showed up, including two nominees and both presidents of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee in addition to another board member, were present to observe.
23 members did cast their votes, 6 sisters and 17 brothers for total of 23 votes.
Worth mentioning and for total transparency, the validity of one vote was contested.
For total farness, the Sub-Committee announced that if by the end votes tabulation, only 1 vote short comes between two contestants, it recommends an election rerun between these tow contestants.
Evening: 61 members did cast their votes. 22 sisters and 39 brothers.
So, for the whole voting day:
- 84 ballots were casted, with the validity of 1 vote contested.
- 23 in the morning and,
- 61 in the evening,
- Total of: 28 sisters and 56 brothers,

The Election Sub-Committee declares brothers Tariq Khan with the highest votes followed by Raduane Nasry with second highest.
As for Asaf Sheikh, Shairmin Uddinn, and Ahmad Shatara, the Sub-Committee recommends an election re-run between these three candidates. Brother Asaf and sister Shairmin for tie votes, and brother Shatara because of the invalid 1 vote mentioned in the morning period.
The Sub-Committee wants to thank all the volunteers who put the time and efforts to help, as well as candidates and all community members who participated in the event.
