Being Good Neighbors & Reflecting Our Faith
Wednesday, June 4th, 2025
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to be part of a diverse and welcoming neighborhood. Recently, we received a kind message from one of our neighbors on Greendale Avenue. They expressed their appreciation for our presence and the role faith-based communities play in strengthening the fabric of our society. At the same time, they shared a concern regarding parking and traffic safety, especially on Fridays.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of being conscientious, law-abiding neighbors, as this reflects the character of a true Muslim.
It was reported that The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"The companion who is the best to Allah is the one who is best to his companion. And the neighbor that is the best to Allah is the one that is best to his neighbor."
— [Tirmidhi]
As such, we kindly urge everyone to:
-
Avoid blocking fire hydrants, driveways, or intersections.
-
Park only in legally permitted areas, even if it means walking a little further.
-
Be mindful of traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
-
Arrive early for Eid & Jummah to allow time to find appropriate parking.
-
Car Pool, Uber, or Lyft
-
Walk if you live nearby
Let’s continue to uphold the beauty of Islam through our actions, manners, and respect for the rights of others. A smile, a greeting, and thoughtful behavior can go a long way in fostering harmony and understanding.
May Allah (SWT) guide us to always be sources of peace and benefit to those around us.
Jazakum Allahu khair for your cooperation and care.
Wa-salamu ‘alaykum,
