Flu Season: Lets Protect Our Community Together
Flu season is upon us, and as a vibrant community, its important that we look out for one another.
Lets all do our part to stay healthy and support each other by being mindful of how we feel and how we can prevent the spread of illness.
We understand the deep desire to come to the masjid for prayer and events, especially during such meaningful times. However, we kindly remind everyone to prioritize both personal health and the well-being of our community. Taking precautions not only helps you recover faster but also protects others who may be more vulnerable. These thoughtful steps keeps our spaces safe and welcoming for all. If youre not feeling well, the best practice is to stay home.
Helpful Reminder from the CDC:
Stay home until at least 24 hours after your fever is gone (without medication) or symptoms have improvedtypically 4-5 days after they start.
Tips to Stay Healthy:
-
Wear a mask in public indoor spaces and in the masjid.
-
Wash your hands frequently.
-
Bring a personal prayer mat to help prevent the spreading of germs.
-
Clean frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs and phones.
-
Keep your space stocked with tissues, soap, and sanitizers.
-
Plan ahead so others can cover your tasks if you need time to recover.
Lets be considerate of one another by taking these simple steps. Together, we can help create a healthier and more supportive environment for everyone. Jazakallah Khair for your thoughtfulness and care!
Comfort for Our Community: Climate Control Campaign
Dear Valued Community Members,
Our masjid has long served as a gathering place where we come together to pray, learn, celebrate, and support one another. Today, we reach out to you regarding an urgent need that affects everyone who walks through our doors.
The Challenge We Face
Many of you have experienced firsthand the significant temperature variations throughout our building. Some rooms are uncomfortably hot while others remain persistently cold, making it difficult to focus on worship, education, and community activities. These dramatic temperature changes aren't just uncomfortablethey pose potential health risks to our community members, especially our children and elderly.
The Solution: Comprehensive HVAC Improvements
After thorough consultation with HVAC professionals, we have identified four critical improvements needed to create a consistently comfortable environment:
-
HVAC Unit Replacement
-
Advanced Control System
-
Boiler Repair
-
Motor Replacement
Why This Matters
Every day, our center serves hundreds of community members. Children attend religious classes, seniors join daily prayers, and families gather for celebrations. Study groups, youth programs, and outreach activities thrive here. Each of these deserves a comfortable, healthy space to focus on faith and community.
You can contribute online via LaunchGood or the MCA Donation Portal, by check (write "HVAC Campaign" in the memo), through monthly pledges, or with corporate matching if your employer offers it. All donations are tax-deductible, and you'll receive a receipt.
