Br. Farah Awad, born November 24th, 1941, passed away September 1st, 2024, at 7:10am. in Nairobi, Kenya, where he was buried.
Br Farah was a significant part of establishing the Muslim Community Mosque in Phoenix, and the development of Arizona Somali Community. Br Farah was attempting to return to Phoenix from Nairobi when he fell ill and was too sick to travel. He passed away in Nairobi. He is survived by his stepsons Rashad and Ata Bilal, his daughters Zainab and Fatma Awad, and his sons, Usman, Hassan, and Mohamed Awad.
May Allah forgive all of his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdous.
Please make Dua'a for Br. Farah his surviving family and friends during this difficult time.
