This is how Shaytan delays you...
Jumuah Mubarak, dear brothers and sisters.
In Ustadh Tariq's last khutbah, he reminded us that after squaring your debts and obligations to Allah the Exalted, the race towards doing voluntary acts of worship should not bedelayed.
Imam al-Ghazali mentions that a sign of true sincerity is when you race toward good the moment you hear of it. A student of knowledge is measured not just by what they learn, but by how swiftly they implement what theyve learned.
Delaying good deeds weakens the heart. Shaytan is content to let us intend all the khayrin the worldas long as its for tomorrow. But tomorrow is never promised. Our health, our time, our opportunitiesnone are guaranteed.
The way to defeat Shaytan and conquer our own laziness is to act. Right now. That lingering intention to pray more, to call your parents, to seek knowledge, to give charity, to ask forgiveness_dont wait._ Race to it with a sincere and open heart.
Allah says in the Quran, So race to all that is good (2:148). This is not a call for the strong or the piousits a call for the sincere. Those who love Allah, even in their brokenness, will rush to do good simply becausethey know time is short.
Be steadfast in this race.
And now, in this sacred month of Dhul Qadah, the weight of every intention, every deed, is heavier. The blessings are multiplied. The reward is greater. This is one of the four sacred months Allah Himself elevatedand with it comes aninvitation to elevate ourselves.
May we become people who hear and respond, people whose sincerity is proven by swift, quiet action.
