May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet Muhammad and his family.
Asalaamu alaykum all,
On behalf of the Islamic Community Center of Atlanta, thank you to everyone who applied to join the Board of Trustees or nominated someone to serve. Many excellent candidates stepped forward, alhamdulillah. Jazakallahu khairyan.
After a thorough review and interview process, we are excited to announce the five talented and dedicated community members who will soon replace the retiring members of the Board of Trustees, insha Allah.
Our new, incoming board members are:
- Sister Ayeesha Giwa
- Brother Khalid Amin
- Brother Mohamed Najam
- Dr. Sofia Munir
- Brother Talha Faruqi
Our retiring board members are Sis. Huma Faruqi, Br. Moin Khan, Br. Ayman Akid, and Dr. Fawzi Mohammad. Our remaining board members are Br. Sajid Farooqi, Sis. Vania Shariff, Sis. Nargis Ahmed, and Br. Edward Ahmed Mitchell, insha Allah.
Insha Allah, we will hold a community event soon to introduce our new board members, thank our outgoing board members, and discuss our goals for the future.
In the meantime, please congratulate and make dua for our new members.
May Allah SWT grant them sincerity, wisdom, strength and success in their new roles, reward all of our masjid volunteers and community members, and protect the ummah.
