Welcoming New Members to the IECPA Board of Directors

Asalaamu Alaikum Community Members,
We are pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished individuals to the IECPA Board of Directors, filling the vacant positions left by Br. Youssef Amana and Br. Uthmaan Muhammad. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Br. Youssef Amana and Br. Uthmaan Muhammad for their service and contributions to the IECPA over the years.
After an extensive search and consideration of numerous candidates, we are confident that the new members will bring valuable skills and perspectives to the board. Please join us in welcoming Br. Muhannad T. Suleiman and Br. Billy "Rasheed" Settles. Both Br. Muhannad and Br. Rasheed brings a wealth of experience, skills, and a deep commitment to our community, making them valuable additions to our board.
Br. Muhannad T. Suleiman is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lehigh University. With a strong background in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy systems, Muhannad has dedicated himself to serving professional and community organizations. His leadership roles, including serving as president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, highlight his commitment to excellence and community development. He’s been a resident of Lehigh Valley for 15 years.
Br Muhannad earned his BS and MS from Jordan University of Science and Technology and his Ph.D. from Iowa State University. His background in education and teaching can be instrumental in shaping Tajan's strategy, ensuring it provides high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of its students and community.
Br Billy "Rasheed" Settles, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, brings a unique perspective to the board. Br Rasheed took his shahada in 1998, settled in Lehigh Valley about 8 years ago and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology. As a subject matter expert in environmental and waste management and as Deputy Director of Health Safety and Environment for a pharmaceutical company, Br Rasheed's professional expertise is matched by his passion for community engagement. Past leadership roles include high school teacher, founding member of a public charter school and project manager. His dedication to youth development and education, demonstrated through his roles in coaching youth sports and teaching Islamic Sunday School, embodies the spirit of servant-leadership that we value at IECPA.
Br Rasheed's skills can contribute significantly to IECPA's long-term success by helping the organization plan, execute, and adapt its strategies to achieve its goals.
