Early Voting this weekend - Saturday, Feb 24 and Sunday, Feb 25

16th Annual Mayors' Ramadan Unity Dinner | Mon, Mar 4 | 5:30 pm to 8 pm at the Lansing Center

The cities of Lansing and East Lansing would like to extend a warm invitation to join us atthe 16th Annual Ramadan Unity Dinner themed: Tradition of Sharing.

Venue: Lansing Center, 333 E Michigan Ave, Lansing

Date and Time: Monday, March 4, 2024, from 5:30-8pm.

The event bring communities together to foster friendship and mutual respect, by creating an opportunity to learn about the significance of Ramadan and experience the rich traditions and culture of Muslims.

Additionally, the dinner aims to bring attention to the issue of food insecurity. The proceeds from dinner are donated to the Greater Lansing Food Bank to assist those who are experiencing food insecurity right here in our own area. Last year we raised $20,000 and this year we seek your help to us reach our 2024 goal of $25,000 by simply buying a ticket and joining us at the dinner.

Please note that when you pay for the ticket, you can adjust the donation fee charged by the payment portal to any value from $0 to anything you wish to donate to them (the fee collected is is not transferred to us, only the ticket cost is)

1st Day of Fasting of Ramadan - Monday, March 11

The first day of fasting of Ramadan is on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Taraweeh prayers will commence after Isha prayer on the previous night - Sunday, March 10, insha Allah.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10.
