5 Things you can do to support the students at the MSU Gaza Solidarity Encampment

5 things you can do to support the MSU Student Encampment. 

1. Attendance: We encourage individuals of all ages to attend - Families. children are welcome. Drop-in any time 24x7.

2. Hot Meals: The students are on-site in the hot sun during the day and cold nights. Bring-in some healthy, hot, and nutritious meal home cooked if possible to show them the love. 

3. Community Discussions: Tell everyone you know about the encampment and the fact that they have a permit from MSU (so far) to exercise their right to assemble and express themselves.

4. Donations: Contrary to allegations by ADL, some politicians, and some media reports, these protests across the country are organic. And no, China is not funding it! You are. Donate at the campsite or online at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/msucamping 

5. If your circumstances don't allow do any of the above, pray for them. They are putting their careers in line and risking arrest and doing so despite being maligned unfairly as terrorists while in reality they are heroes for standing up against genocide.

In partnership with MSU’s Muslim Studies Center and African Studies Center the 2024 Global Voices Essay Contest is open to 15-24 year olds from the Middle East and North Africa (see eligible nationalities/groups below). We invite youth to share their stories in order to raise awareness, amplify their voices, and inspire others.

  • Theme: "Authoring Our Own Story"  Youth have the chance to tell a new story about their homelands and their unique, personal experiences. They can choose to claim, re-frame, or reject the dominant narratives, and give a new perspective on what life is like in the Middle East and North Africa for youth in 2024.
