Year-end Message from the Chairman
I hope and pray to Allah SWT that you and your families are in a state of good health and Imaan. The year 2023 is ending and I would like to first thank Allah SWT and then our volunteers, donors, and community in general for your support and understanding during this tough year.
As we continue to grow the need for professional help has been immense, we have been blessed to have two new volunteered positions filled by Br. Zahed Rehman and CR. Brian McElroy. They have joined AMCC as Facility Director and Operations Director respectively.
AMCC BoD elections
As Ramadan moves closer to the beginning of the year, our elections become more impacted as this is the busiest time of the year. Despite the challenges, we were able to conduct AMCC Board elections successfully using an online voting platform. Following the bylaws of the organization, the community was able to elect four new board members. Kudos to our election committee who worked very hard to make it possible.
Revert Program
Our Revert program also kickstarted in 2020 and continued to do exceptionally well during 2023. We are conducting regular get-togethers and virtual teaching and coaching of the reverts. We have also started a New Muslim Committee to serve the revert better.
Financials
Our financials, budget and expenses report and details of our finances/tax returns have been regularly made available to the community. 3rd year in a row we have published budget and allocated budgets to each committee to perform their activities. We have started working toward a Net Zero goal for all AMCC event, this initiative will allow us to sustain programs for an indefinite time.
Our monthly expenses are approximately $25,142 which are supplemented by membership fees, general donations, and rental income from Waqf property next door and AMSS clinic. During this year general donations have substantially reduced due to inflation and overall economic stress but we have struggled to pay the overheads. A separate detailed financial report will soon be available to members by the 2024 AGM.
Peace Academy
Peace academy, our weekend Sunday school took the delivery of Islamic education to the next level. Our dedicated teachers, & administration of Peace Academy were able to continue their mission to provide Islamic studies, Quran memorization and life skills to children and youth of our community. Alhumdullillah Enrollment in the school has significantly gone up in this year 2023. Alhumdullilah Peace Academy is staffed with qualified teachers with ijazah and training in Quran and tajweed. Our goal is to help our youth to become educated and responsible Muslim adults and the leaders of tomorrow.
Building Maintenance
We continued to maintain and upgrade our facilities in 2023. Our biggest milestone this year was to have our main building roof replaced which cost u over $125K. This was a long overdue project and needed a lot of coordination with the City & installer. Special Thanks to our Maintenance Director, & Operations Director for making this milestone a reality. The building is regularly cleaned professionally along with steam cleaning carpet several times this year. AMCC parking area is regularly maintained with the cleaning of gutters. We have fixed any deferred maintenance items
Search for Imam/ religious affairs director
As you already may know; we have been saddened by the loss of our beloved Imam. Our search to find a qualified imam for our community continues in the year 2023 and beyond. We will continue posting the job on several platforms and reach out to many masajid, scholars and Islamic organizations in our quest. We have interviewed several candidates over past year and a half. I request the community to be patient and make dua. InshaAllah we will secure the services of an imam who could fulfill the spiritual needs of the community.
Community & Events:
Masha-Allah we have been blessed to have Sister Asima as our Community Engagement coordinator who has successfully delivered events like Eid Festivals, Picnics, and Winter Camp. SHe along side the newly hired Admins has been a key contributor to the successful event. Lastly, our volunteers have always great to work with.
Focus on Operational Excellence
AMCC is pleased to have Sister Samad & Brother Ali joining the administrative team as the Operations admins in this year 2023. They have demonstrated passion, dedication, and wisdom in running day-to-day operations for AMCC working along with our Operations Director. We plan and strategize for 2024 and focus on operational excellence in our existing programs. The goal is to continue to deliver increasing value to the community and renew our long-term vision. Policies and procedures are now documented to help future boards and administration smoothly run AMCC operations.
Communications
We continued to keep our community informed of current events and programs in Central Florida and especially AMCC through well well-maintained website, weekly newsletters, and regularly updated Facebook page, Instagram, and WhatsApp announcements. Regular Jumma announcements were made to educate our community on upcoming events.

As we enter the year 2024, our mission to seek the pleasure of Allah SWT and to build and serve a strong Muslim community will carry on. Most of the work is done behind the scenes and does not meet the eyes. My humble request to our community is to stay optimistic and support AMCC with your time, talent, and treasure.
