AMCC election result are out

Salams Brothers and Sisters,

It is my great honor to welcome new board members, Br. Mansoor Ahmed, Br. Mahmood Haq & Sr. Rafat Ahmed to the AMCC board. We had three positions and all three have been elected uncontested. Please welcome them when you get to see them and they will be InShaAllah serving AMCC board along with other board members who were elected last year, Br. Zahed Rahman, Br. Aftab Khan and Sr, Hope Ali. 

The new board will start on April 1st, 2024 and will select a Chairperson, Vicechair, and Secretary until the next election.

I thank Br. Umraan Jameel, Sr. Mahwash Mahmood for serving AMCC for the last 3 years; you will be greatly missed but I am sure you will continue to volunteer your time at AMCC. Along with them I, Adnan Haque, current Chairperson of AMCC, will also be stepping down from the board and continue to serve the AMCC community in any other capacity.

My name is Mansoor Ahmed, I have been trained as a Medical Doctor. worked in Egypt, Pakistan,& America
Nowadays running an assisted living facility in Florida. I have been an active member of the Pakistani doctors organization in America.
Member of the building committee in AMCC.
Experience in working with different groups of people & institutes.

Name: Mahmood Haq
Sub-committee currently served: Religious
Duration with Sub-Committee : 3 years
Achievements: Manage and maintain prayer times on the AMCC website Mawaqit. In addition, run STEM-related boot camps such as the robotics club at AMCC for elementary and middle school students. Volunteer with Excellence in Education Initiative (EEI), all volunteer SAT Preparation program from students in grades 8 through 12. 

Plans if elected: Continue to ensure that AMCC continues to become a financially strong and viable institution with educational programs that will evolve to serve this community and the next generations to come.

Rafat Ahmed has been residing in Seminole County for the past 34 years. She earned her undergraduate from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Science from the University of South Florida. She is currently working as a nurse practitioner at Orlando Health. Her hobbies include reading, following the current shows on Netflix, and cooking. She values spending quality time with her family, friends, and community. She has previously served on the board of United Muslim Foundation. She was also the chairperson of the Seminole Action Committee for the Muslim Womens Organization for seven years. She actively volunteers at the American Muslim Community Center and has been involved in AMCC Womens wing and iftar committee. Shes currently a member of AMCCs Zakat and Funeral Committee. She also volunteers for AMSS clinic and has participated in their COVID-19 testing and free vaccination events and Mobile clinic. She has received a community appreciation award from the Helping Hand Organization. She can be a great addition to the AMCC board due to her solid leadership experience.
