The Forgotten:

The Sudanese.  The Uyghurs.  The Rohingya.  Stories of these genocides go untold even as millions within their ranks face persecution, displacement, abandonment, and violence at this very moment.

On Sunday, July 14th at 2PM - Qahwa Cafe hosts The Forgotten, an interactive exhibit featuring the stories of these lesser known genocides to ensure they are forgotten no more.  Presenting information, artifacts, and firsthand accounts, this immersive walkthrough sheds light on the struggles of the Sudanese, Uyghurs, Rohingya communities.  Come away with a collective understanding of the ongoing tribulations currently being faced by our fellow Muslims.

This exhibit is open from 2 to 5 in the gym.  Register with a free ticket and explore the event at your own pace.  We sincerely hope to see you there InshAllah.

Join us for Qahwas first ever book club where we will read the seminal Autobiography of Malcolm X.

Featuring commentary from Imam Abdul Malik Merchant, converse with fellow readers and participate in discussion groups that highlight the themes and lessons from Malcolm Xs incredible life story.

Meeting biweekly starting Wednesday July 17, all fans of literature, history, and civil rights are encouraged to come!  Whether youre new to Malcolm Xs story or already aquatinted with Americas most famous Muslim, this is one event you wont want to miss!

Registration is free but donations are encouraged to help fund future events!  Participants should bring their own copies of the book, see you there inshallah!

Translated from the Arabic word for Men and led by Imam Abdul Malik Merchant, the latest iteration of this series draws from the wisdom of Imam al-Ghazalis Adab Al-Suhba (The Duties of Brotherhood).

This event takes place every Tuesday in the outside Pavilion and consists of a short talk by Imam Merchant followed by questions, comments, and discussions from attendees. Open to youth and young professionals looking to learn what it takes to be a better man according to our scholars in the Islamic tradition. Men 18+ Only.
