Dear ICEB Community,

Today, we are excited to announce that Shaykh Abdullah Mohyuddin will be joining the Islamic Center of East Brunswick as our Imam, officially starting his role on November 1, 2024. Some of you may already be familiar with him from his time at the Islamic Center of South River, where he served previously.

Shaykh Abdullah brings with him a deep understanding of Islamic scholarship and the ability to connect with people of all ages. His presence will, InshaAllah, enhance our spiritual programming, strengthen our youth outreach, and foster unity within the community. We pray that Allah (SWT) makes this a blessed time for our community.

Here is a brief overview of Shaykh Abdullahs background:

Shaykh Abdullah Mohyuddin was born and raised in the United States, growing up in Atlanta before moving to Madinah Munawara at the age of 10. He holds numerous ijazaat (certifications) in Quran from esteemed scholars, including:

• Shaykh Imam Abdul-Mohsin Al Qasim (Imam of Masjid Al-Nabawi)
• Shaykh Dr. Abdullah Jarullah (Head of the Muqri al-Quran program at Masjid Al-Nabawi)
• Shaykh Sohail Iqbal (Head of the international Quran competition)
• Shaykh Imam Ibrahim Akhzar (Former Imam of Al-Haramayn)

In addition, Shaykh Abdullah holds ijazat in Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Adab, Akhlaq, and more, Ma Sha Allah. He is also certified in Tajweed, Hifdh al-Quran, and Qiraat. Shaykh Abdullah has trained with renowned Qurra such as Shaykh Muhammad Khalil Al-Qari and Shaykh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Qari in Maqam Hijaz, and shares the same Hifz teacher as Shaykh Yasir Dosry (Imam of Makkah). Moreover, Shaykh Abdullah is a certified Muslim Chaplain from the College of Masjid Al-Nabawi (Kulliyat Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi).

We are excited to welcome Shaykh Abdullah to our community and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our Masjid.

A meet-and-greet will be organized soon to introduce him to the community, and we encourage everyone to attend.
