Weekly Newsletter April 25th, 16th of Shawwal 1445
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Masjid,
As Ramadan becomes a sight in our rearview mirror, we sometimes experience what is referred to as "post-Ramadan blues". After the happening and spiritually uplifting time of Ramadan, and the excitement of Eid; the rest of Shawwal leaves us wanting more. However the blessings don't have to end in Ramadan and we can continue on the path to goodness well after it to keep our souls nourished. The 6 optional-but highly rewarding-Shawwal fasts are one way of keeping our Iman strong, along with continuing the recitation of Quran, extraIbadat such as optional prayers and, of course, exercising our generosity through charity.
There are more ways to do good deeds, such as raising our voice against injustice like standing up against the genocide in Gaza. Whether you make the effort to make phone calls to your political representatives, write letters to key stake holders, take part in protests or at the very least boycott businesses that support genocide; do your part in being on the right side of history. May Allah accept our efforts and bring peace to our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Ameen!
