Weekly Newsletter February 22nd, 12th Shaban 1445
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Masjid,
February 21st marks the date that our beloved brother Malcolm X, El Hajj Malik El Shabazz unfairly lost his life.
Human rights are something you were born with. Human rights are your God-given rights. Human rights are the rights that are recognized by all nations of this earth. And any time any one violates your human rights, you can take them to the world court.
-Malcolm X
This quote, though decades old, seems to fit well in the current climate of genocide and humanitarian crisis in Palestine. We honor Malcolm X's legacy to stand up firm against injustice and for human rights, whether occurring nationally or globally. May Allah have mercy on our brother El Hajj Malik el Shabazz and all those who have lost their lives while fighting for justice and preserving human rights. Ameen!
