Weekly Newsletter March 7, 26th Shaban 1445

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Masjid,

Inshallah, March 11 will be the first day of Ramadan according to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA). Taraweeh prayers will begin at Al Falah Center on evening of Sunday, March 10.

The Messenger of Allah said: 'There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived (Sunan an-Nasa'i: 2106).

As we approach the Holy month of Ramadan, we are reminded of all the blessings that are bestowed upon us. It is an opportunity for us to dive into Allah's mercy.  We all joyously anticipate our coming fasts, yet, our hearts are with our brothers and sisters in Gaza as they continually fast due to lack of resources. We hope and pray that Allah eases their difficulty and grants all of us a peaceful Ramadan, Ameen!

Weekly Recap

Last weekend was a busy one at Al Falah Center!  Our annual Welcome Ramadan event this past Sunday was quite exciting.  The program began with a beautiful recitation of Quran by Dr. Mostafa Ghazy who is visiting Al Falah Center for Ramadan and will be leading the Taraweeh prayers. We were then graced by the presence of our beloved Shuyookh, Dr. Ahmed Metwally, Shaykh Osamah Salhia, and Shaykh Yasir Fahmy. The kids' craft event along with all the Ramadan dishes brought in were a major hit!

Also this past weekend, our talented youth team, "Al Falah Force," competed in the NJ-statewide Muslim Interscholastic Tournament (MIST).  The students represented Al Falah Center in basketball, volleyball, spoken word, nasheed, culinary arts, short film, quiz, and debate.  The students brought home first place in several categories.  We pray for all of our youth to stay guided on the straight path and become leaders of the Saliheen, Ameen!
