Assalaamualaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Inshallah this message finds you all well, though it brings me sorrow to share news of a troubling event that took place shortly after the Asr prayer, yesterday, at our cherished masjid.
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of an act of vandalism against our center. Offensive and blasphemous profanities were written on a column outside the masjid by an unknown individual. This distressing act has understandably caused shock and dismay among all of us who hold this sacred space dear.
In these trying times, we turn to Allah's book for guidance:
"Good and evil are not equal. Repel (evil) with that which is good, and you will see that he, between whom and you there was enmity, shall become as if he were a close friend." (Surah Fussilat: Ayah 34)
It is essential that we come together as a community, steadfast in our commitment to the values of peace, respect, and dignity that our center embodies. We are working collaboratively with law enforcement to identify the person responsible for this shameful act. Please be assured that every measure is being taken to ensure the safety and sanctity of our masjid.
We must respond with patience, resilience, and steadfastness in the face of adversity. Our unity and solidarity are paramount during such times.
I encourage you all to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information that may assist in the investigation. Together, we can ensure that our masjid remains a place of tranquility and spiritual solace for everyone. Please keep the masjid in your Dua, and may Allah (SWT) grant us wisdom and guidance to navigate this trial with grace and patience.
With deepest concern and love for our community. Jazakum Allahu khayran wa salaamu alaikum,
Zahid Qureshi
