Al Falah Center Statement on the Passing of Our Beloved Imam Hassan Sharif of MasjidMuhammad-Newark

A Salaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu,

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim (In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
Merciful).

We are profoundly shocked and saddened by the heinous attack on Imam Hassan Sharif, of Masjid Muhammad-Newark, a respected figure in our community. In the current climate of rising Islamophobia and the shadow of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, this heinous act is very concerning and we urge the authorities to investigate fully and thoroughly. We mourn the loss of a leader who stood for peace and understanding.

In these times of heightened tensions, we call for unity against such senseless acts of violence. It is imperative that a thorough investigation be conducted and those responsible are held accountable. We stand in solidarity with our fellow community members of Masjid Muhammad-Newark and remain steadfast in our commitment to combating Islamophobia and advocating for peace and justice in Gaza and around the world.
