Pancreatic Cancer Event| Sunday, November 13
ISM Main
Cancer. When we hear this word, it often feels like navigating in the dark, with only a match to guide our understanding of what will happen next. Cancer can affect anyone regardless of age, race, creed, or gender, but communities often lack access to information and tools to cope with this disease. Whether you are personally battling cancer or supporting a loved one, we believe the best weapon against despair is community and knowledge.
Join us as we SHINE a light that brings hope and builds support networks. Our event takes a holistic approach, engaging spirit, mind, and body. The interactive discussionswill provide an overview of preventative screenings to increase awareness and improve knowledge of these cancers.
In recognition of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, the MCW LaBahn Pancreatic Cancer Program is organizing the SHINE event. The purpose is to raise awareness about cancer while highlighting pancreatic and colorectal cancers. This event was initiated by the late Dr. Shawnee Daniels Sykes. As an individual with stage IV pancreatic cancer, Shawnee's experience with cancer and the complexities of receiving care sparked the idea of creating a community-based cancer awareness event. The SHINE event is free and open to the public! If you have any questions, please contact us at: (414) 282 1812
