A Weighty Test as Successors
Jumuah Mubarak. Give sadaqa on this blessed day.
Jumuah Mubarak to our dear brothers and sisters!
Then We made you their successors in the land to see how you would act.
Qur'an 10:14
A Weighty Test
In verse 14, Allah, in His infinite wisdom, reminds us that He has made us vice-regents on this earth after the destruction of past nations. This station is not one of ease or indulgence but rather a weighty test of our actions and character. The mantle ofauthority is both a blessing and a trial, bestowed not to elevate us in pride but to instill within us a profound sense of accountability, for which we will be judged. As Imam Kemal reminds us, what we do has impact in our future - the Afterlife - and this chance to do right will one day come to an end.
Will we learn from the fall of those before us, or will we falter, swayed by theintoxication of the dunya (worldly life)? Indeed, true success lies in righteous deeds, humility, and the remembrance of our ultimate return to Allah.
Yet, how many today falter in this responsibility? The ongoing oppression of our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, and elsewhere is a vivid reminder of the misuse of power. The oppressors, lost in their arrogance, fail to see that this world is but afleeting moment. They may believe their power is unshakable, but they forget that every act of injustice, every tear they cause, will weigh heavily upon them in the Hereafter.
Their authority, though great in their eyes, is nothing more than a fragile trusta trust they are abusing. But Allah the Exalted sees all, and those who oppress others will stand accountable. Nothing can shieldthem from the divine justice that awaits on that "tremendous Day".

Whoever is pleased for Allah to save him from distress on the Day of Resurrection, let him relieve one in hardship or lifthis burden.
