Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,

Im genuinely looking forward to visiting WIC this weekend and reconnecting with our beautiful community. But more importantly, I am honored to be teaching a class that could not be more relevant to the times in which we live.

As the Ummah burns through trials and ideological confusion, we must reconnect with our history, not just for the sake of information, but for revival. The Prophet promised:

"Indeed, Allah will send for this Ummah, at the head of every hundred years, someone who will renew for it its religion." (Sunan Abi Dawood)

Thats precisely what Shaikh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwis history book focuses on: the revivalist tradition in Islam how Allah has always sent individuals, movements, and scholars to bring the Ummah back to life, intellectually, spiritually, and politically.

I recorded a short podcast explaining the value of this course and why this is not a class to miss:

Watch Dr Asif Hirani's Podcast about this Workshop

Heres why you should attend:

Shaikh Nadwi doesnt just give you dates and eventshe explains why revival matters, the difference between reform vs. revival, and why our Ummah keeps falling into decline, and how it bounces back.

Youll hear about heroes like Salahuddin Ayyubi, Imam Ghazzali, Ibn Taymiyyah, and modern-day scholars and thinkers, all of whom played roles in reviving the deen in different waysmilitary, political, educational, or spiritual.

Youll learn how Muslims navigated through Aristotelian philosophy, Mongol invasions, and post-colonial oppressionand how the same ideologies we battle today (like secularism, liberalism, and nationalism) were resisted in the past by Revivalists.

This class is deeply relevant to Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the ideological confusion among post-colonial Muslims. Shaikh Nadwi said this era is unlike any in 1400 years: weak militarily and ideologically. The solution? Revivalnot assimilation or isolation!

Our religion will always be protected by Allah, but each of us must ask: Am I part of the revival or the erosion?

This class is more than a history lecture. Its a call to wake up, reconnect, and carry the torch in our communities!

Join us this Saturday, June 28. Invite your friends and family. Lets not miss this opportunity.

May Allah grant us all tawfeeq and firmness, Ameen.
