A Letter From The Executive Director
Asalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, Dear MIC family,
I hope this message finds you in the best of health and Imaan.
Its an honor to write to you today, not just as your Executive Director, but as someone who has grown up in this very community, prayed beside you, and been shaped by the beauty and strength of the Memphis Islamic Center.
As many of you know, I was born and raised in Memphis. After graduating from the University of Memphis in 2010 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, I worked professionally at Smith & Nephew. But my heart has always been in service to this community.
Over the years, Allah (SWT) has blessed me with the opportunity to help build and nurture spaces for our youth, co-founding the Muslim Basketball League of Memphis and 901 Ummah, and serving as a Director for both. Ive also had the privilege of serving on the advisory board for Al-Anhar Institute and serving as a board member at MIC.
I dont step into this role alone. I come with the collective experience of our community, the skills of my professional training, and a deep passion to uplift and grow the MIC we all love.
As part of this transition, Im also pleased to introduce Sr. Sadia Qaderi, our Administrative Coordinator. She is serving full-time as our primary point of contact for all incoming communications, community requests and inquiries along with some donor relations work.
