A Greeting and Prayer for Peace During the Days of Awe

Even as our hearts are heavy with grief, our eyes are sore with the witnessing of so much suffering, death, destruction, and slaughter on an industrial scale, and our minds are filled with foreboding about what is to come, we recognize this sacred season for the Jewish community and send sincere greetings of peace and heartfelt prayers for peace to all of the Jewish members of the AIC community, along with our Jewish friends, partners for justice and peace, collaborators, and supporters.  Shana tova: may you, your loved ones, and indeed all humankind be written in the Book of Life, and may this New Year be a year of true repentance, restraint, renewal, peace, healing, justice, and reconciliation, a year of rediscovering the sacredness of each and every human being, a year for building new foundations for justice for all, equal rights for all, and equal opportunities for all.

Timothy J. Gianotti, Ph.D.

AIC President

The Concordia Forum's Annual Diplomatic Reception

President Timothy Gianotti was recently in New York City while the UN was in session. There, in addition to his meetings with individuals interested in the renewal and rise of AIC, he attended the Concordia Forum’s Annual Diplomatic Reception 2024: “A Global Dialogue on Islamophobia and Countering Religious Hatred.”

This year’s theme was explored by a prestigious group of leaders, diplomats, activists, scholars, and advocates from the U.S., Canada, and all over the world. Dr. Gianotti reflected that it was an engaging and insightful evening of reflection and discussion with inspiring people who are working hard to make a difference in the world.

With Dr. Mohamed Elsanousi - Executive Director of The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers in Washington, DC

With Amira Elghawaby - Canada’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia

With Yusuf Salaam - Elected member of the New York City Council, tireless advocate for justice and peace, and one of the “Exonerated Five” who were wrongfully convicted, incarcerated for several years, and then freed when their conviction was overturned in 2002.
