Salam Alykum dear ICC Community,

We want to inform you about an important development near the ICC. A new 29-story, 800+ unit building is being planned on the west and south sides of the ICC, which will replace the current church building, parking lot, and the Tricks restaurant. This new construction will significantly effect the surrounding area and the ICCs operations.

Key Information:

Zoning Committee Update: The ICC Zoning Committee will update the community this Sunday at 1 pm, immediately following the Dhuhr prayer. This will be an important meeting to learn more about the ongoing efforts and discussions. There will be a Webex for those who cannot attend in person as well: https://tempemosque.webex.com

• Zoning Information: Zoning information boards are now posted on both 7th Street and 5th Street. A copy of the board is included in the attached picture for your reference.

• Neighborhood Meeting: The developer has scheduled a neighborhood meeting on Tuesday, January 7, from 6 to 9 pm at the Westin Hotel in Tempe. All community members are invited to attend and learn more about the project.

• Impact on ICC Operations: The new high-rise development will drastically affect the ICCs operations almost 24/7

• ICCs Evaluation Committee: In response to the proposed development, ICC has formed a committee to evaluate the impacts of the new building. This committee is made up of:

  The committee has been working diligently on this evaluation for over two years

  • One attorney
  • Three architects
  • One civil engineer
  • The ICC Operations Director
  • The ICC Board of Directors (BOD) Chairman

We encourage all community members to attend the ICC Zoning Committee meeting this Sunday at 1 pm and the developers neighborhood meeting at the Westin on January 7 at 6 pm to stay informed and have your voices heard.
