2024 Message from Election Committee. Nominations and Dates.
Assalamu Alaikum,
Dear respected brothers and sisters,
The MCQC Election Committee requests our community to nominate persons for the Shura Councils open positions. The term for each position is 2 years except the Member at Large which is for 4 years.
There are 8 open Shura Council positions to be filled: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Member at Large, Dawa Committee Chairperson, Social Committee Chairperson, Education Committee Chairperson, and Facilities Committee Chairperson.
The NOMINEE shall meet the below requirements:
He/She is a voting member of the MCQC
He/She receives a minimum of 2 nominations by the MCQC voting members
NOTES:
Before writing a persons name on the nomination form, please call and check with him/her that he/she is interested and ready to serve.
Submit the completed nomination form to either the election committee member or through email [email protected]
Nomination by phone or text message is not accepted.
Nomination Form and the MCQC Voting Member List are attached.
ELECTION SCHEDULE:
Nomination Acceptance Period: 5 to 26 November
Nominee Announcement: 29 November
Election Date: 6 December
If TWO or more candidates are nominated for the same position, then the list of the nominees will be announced for the election. If there is ONE nomination for each position, then the newly elected MCQC Shura council will be announced as soon as possible. Newly elected Shura Council will be effective 1st of January 2025.
