Clarifications Regarding Eid AlAdha Prayer Planning:

Over the last few days, the SCV Muslim community has been subjected to misinformation regarding arrangements for the upcoming Eid Aladha prayer arrangements. And as such we want to share with everyone the straight facts:

The three Masajid have a standing Eid committee which has the responsibility of planning and coordinating for Eid Prayers.
The committee started holding regular meeting shortly after the last Eid Prayer.
The last meeting was held over a week ago, and during the meeting, the committee deliberated on what to do since the traditional venues (Canyon Country Community Center, Santa Clarita Activities Center, Hyatt Hotel, Central Park, & SCV Senior Citizens Center) are not available. The committee agreed to focus on looking for a venue at local schools, and if no schools are available, each Masjid will proceed with arranging a minimum of two prayers at its facility, and the three Masjid will jointly publicize the prayers.
Earlier this week, members of the Eid committee were contacted by some individuals saying that they have reserved the main gymnasium at Valencia High School and have a plan to offer Eid Prayer there.
Boards of Unity Center & Al-Umma Center considered the proposal and voted not to go along with it, due to legal ramifications and to avoid precedent settings of having joint Masajid events organized by outside groups.
At Al-Umma Center, were firmly committed to having events jointly sponsored by the local Masjid, and will do everything we can to ensure such events success. However, if such option is not available, we're prepared to hold the upcoming Eid Prayer at our Masjid.

Please avoid double parking, and use street parking right behind the masjid. It's only a short walk to the Masjid from that area.

Sunday School

(Sunday School offers four levels of instruction in Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies. Sunday School is held on Sundays from 10:00AM - 12:45PM)

Inshallah the last day of this year's school year will be on Sunday, May 11, 2025. On that day children will be making presentations highlighting their divers cultural heritages. Food from the diverse cultures of our student body will also be served. All student families are welcome to attend.

Reciting + Contemplations Sharing

Fajr Prayer & Hadith Contemplations (Sundays @ 5:30 AM):

Please join us every Sunday in the Masjid to pray Fajr and participate in discussing and reflecting on two or three Hadiths, Inshallah. This Sunday, Brother Ensar will continue presenting Hadiths from (Sahih Bukhary)

In Masjid Isha Prayer Program: (Currently @ 9:15 PM)

Please join community members every evening for Isha prayer which will include sharing a reflection/Khatira by one of the following Brothers, who we sincerely appreciate them volunteering for the laudable undertaking:

       Mondays: Br. Sameh
       Tuesdays: Br. Ensar
       Wednesdays: Br. Obada
       Thursdays: Br. Hafez
       Fridays: Br. Abdallah
       Saturdays: Br. Ismael

New Masjid Building Project Updates:

1. Alhamdulillah, revised plans which allow for men's and women's bathrooms and Wudu stations on the first floor (see revised plans below). The architect has developed preliminary 3D renditions of the plans, and Inshallah more detailed plans will be incorporated in recurrently obtained photos and videos of surrounding areas . (see photos below)
2. Alhamdulillah, we have submitted the completed lot line adjustment application along with all supporting documents to the City of Santa Clarita Engineering department. The application processing & review are expected to take 4 to 6 weeks.
3. We'll be starting to prepare the entitlement application to submit to the City of Santa Clarita for the new masjid building and all associated facilities
4. Have engaged a California architect for preparing all project drawings well be submitting to the City of Santa Claire Planning Department, in connection with filing the entitlement application. The work on filling out the application is underway, and we should be in a position to file application documents by middle of June, 2025
